Adoption Update

I'm sorry it has been a few months since our last update but not a lot, and yet a ton has been happening! First of all we have a full force toddler running around! She is a riot!  She also has taken it upon herself to mother anyone who will let her.  Constantly we find her with her babies, "Shushing" and rocking them.  I think that is one of the greatest challenges with struggling with infertility. You realize that it isn't just you as a couple that are impacted, but so are your children.  And our baby girl is READY to be a big sister.

As you saw from our last post we had begun the embryo adoption process, and we are still on the waiting list.  Our biggest struggle now is that in over 3 months there haven't been any changes. We are currently 3rd in line with our fertility doctor's office, and we were in 6th place. So there have been changes, but not in a while. The hardest thing has been the lack of communication with their office. As we have prayed and waited, we began to rethink our calling to foster and question why were wanting to put it off. Why? What was our reasoning?  I got together with some friends who had fostered to adopt and left feeling so encouraged. It was icing on the cake when I saw a photo she sent me of a new little one that they had just been placed with, how could we ever wait!?  We have already taken all of our necessary classes and are plowing our way through the paperwork.  Next step is multiple inspections: the fire marshall in our area, our agency, and then finally our home study.

Needless to say we are anxious on many fronts. 1) This little one will be part of our family for potentially only a season, 2) embryo adoption may not work, 3) that we fail to attach out of fear, and 4) how do we help our baby girl through all this!  More then anything we're trying to keep our hearts focused on the Lord and we're grateful that he is sovereign!
Look at this face! I mean she's the greatest!
